MITRE and SandboxAQ Host First-Ever Real World PQC Workshop
At the end of March, SandboxAQ and MITRE held the first-ever Real World PQC Workshop in Tokyo. The workshop was affiliated with the IACR’s annual Real World Crypto event. Together, we curated an agenda that covered the latest happenings in the world of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and recruited a roster of world-renowned industry experts, with sponsorship from QuintessenceLabs, EvolutionQ and Google. You can watch the full event online, which covers:
- Dr. Dustin Moody, NIST, announced that the first FIPS standards will be focused on the CRYSTALS-KYBER and CRYSTALS-Dilithium algorithms.
- Dr. Douglas Stebila, University of Waterloo, discussed all the current efforts underway at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in their transition to PQC.
- Dr. Mélissa Rossi, ANSSI, gave a status update on ANSSI’s position with regard to the PQC migration.
- The industry panel, consisting of experts from Meta, Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, and SandboxAQ, illustrated the urgency of PQC migration and the benefits it will have on global cybersecurity.
- Dr. Vadim Lyubashevsky, IBM Research, discussed the latest advances in lattice-based zero-knowledge proofs.
